Cooking Frozen

Did you know that many chefs claim hands down that preparing steaks frozen is the way to go? The steaks are more tender and flavorful when they are NOT thawed out prior to cooking. It may take longer for the frozen meat to reach the perfect cooking temperature, but it's worth a few extra minutes because frozen steaks do not overcook as easily! The outside of the frozen steak will brown and the inside will cook but will remain juicy and tender. When steaks are thawed the muscle fiber contract causing the water from the meat to drain. Therefore, the result is a dry, overcooked, flavorless steak. So next time, don't worry if you forget to take the steaks out of the freezer to thaw, try cooking them frozen and taste the difference!
