Last week a mother and her son came by the store. The mother I would guess was in her early 40's and the son maybe was 16 years old. The lady requested a pricing sheet on our meats. I obliged and ask if I could help her with any specific meat cut. She wanted to know if our beef was truly grass finished. She asked me that question twice. I gloved and aproned up and got a few cuts out of the freezer to show her. We talked beef and fat for several minutes. She drilled down into the benefits of Conjugated Linoleic Acids and the distinct yellow fat in grass-finished beef due to the high levels of beta-carotene. She quickly brought the conversation around to the perfect balance of Omega-3 fatty acid and Omega-6 fatty acid in grass-finished beef. I marveled at her knowledge and thought about offering her a position at the store on the spot. She was excellent on selling me on our own meats!!! I have found there are many people interested in doing everything possible to strengthen their immune systems. They are drawn to our store and to our grass-finished beef, natural pork, and cage free chicken and eggs. I wonder if the lady would be interested in part time work?
