What does "Grass Fed/ Grass Finished" mean?
Grass Fed: The livestock were strictly eating grass, no corn, hormones, grains or other food substitutes were given to the animals.
Grass Finished: The livestock only ate grass and were not given corn, hormones, grains or any other substitutes to help fatten them up prior to processing.
Sometimes the label "grass-fed" is not enough when you are looking for pure, grass-fed, healthy meat. Many meats at the store have labels that claim the meat was "grass fed" but notice that it doesn't mention how they were "finished." This is likely because they were grass-fed but not grass-finished. Do your research and know your meats, or even better, know your rancher!
