Ranchers in north Palo Pinto county are already cutting their wheat. Our ranch foreman, Kevin, has been checking our fields every day. We walked them again on Saturday to check for moisture. They are still too wet to cut, rake, and bale (which is not necessarily a bad thing, we've needed the rain!). Since we could not get on the wheat, we mowed and plowed the coastal fields. I worked on Little Blue on the front fields and Kevin took Big Green and worked the back fields. Hopefully we will be working the wheat fields later this week. We need to get our grasses baled and put up.
