Christmas 2015

Christmas, like most holidays, includes family traditions that have been passed down through generations. This year, the boys and their families came over Christmas Day! It's always fun to have young children running throughout the house, excited about Christmas and being with their cousins.  Martye and I enjoy having everyone around and we love sharing family traditions with our grandchildren. We enjoyed a traditional Christmas lunch which included Holleman Farms ham and turkey (side note: we cooked the turkey with the salt egg and I can honestly say it was the best turkey I've ever had). During lunch we all signed and dated the tablecloth. This was a tradition that my grandmother used to do. One day, all of the signatures will be embroidered in different colors and we will be able to reminisce over family dinners together. After lunch we enjoyed Martye's rum cake, which the recipe actually belonged to Martye's grandmother. This Christmas was full of fun family traditions and delicious treats.... which I'm pretty sure we all gained a few pounds that will need to be dealt with in the New Year! We hope that you and your family had a very merry Christmas!
