Organic Beef

Organic and grass-fed do not mean the same thing. Organic means that the cow was fed organically grown grass or grains. Typically organic meat has been fed organic grains or corn. This usually means that the cow spent most of... if not all of their life in a feedlot. The sad truth is that most organic meat and dairy products come from feedlots.

On the flip side, grass-fed does not always mean organic. Some ranches allow their cows to graze on grass that has been treated with herbicides and fertilizers. Read the label of your meats. The purest form of meat will say "organic and grass-fed (and of course grass-finished)."

At the Double S Ranch we are proud to state that our beef is organic, grass-fed and grass-finished.
